Meet the Teachers

Cecilia Sanchez - Director I was born in Mexico City and grew up as a bilingual child. I am a mother of 3 bilingual children and have been living in The Woodlands since 2005. I have a B.A. in Bilingual Education and a Masters Degree from Columbia University in Early Childhood Education. I am also a certified Montessori Guide. I worked for 15 years as an English Teacher at the American School Foundation and the ETON School in Mexico City before moving to the USA.

Gloria Eppinette - English Lead Teacher 4 Year Olds I was born in Mexico and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I've always enjoyed teaching and I have taught every age from preschool through adults. I received my BA in Psychology from DePaul University. I am certified in Bilingual, Gifted and Early Childhood through 4th Grade Education. My professional development includes training with Fred Jones, Handwriting Without Tears and Vivian Paley's Story Dictation and Dramatization. I am currently working on my M.ED in Reading and Language Arts at Sam Houston State University. I am married and have five children. I'm very fond of teaching little ones and embarking them on their path to reading, writing, independent thinking and lifelong learning. One of my greatest rewards is to see children internalize instruction and both utilize and synthesize the information they've been given. My heart's desire is that my service to your children will inspire them to exceed expectations in all that they do!

Norma Velasco - English Teacher Assistant 4 Year Olds I was born in Mexico and because of my family's heritage was raised bilingual and bicultural. I have degrees in Pedagogy and Preschool Education and a Masters in Education. I've had the opportunity of teaching children from 6 months to 10 years old for over 15 years but mostly enjoy working with the preschool age. I an certified as an American Sign Language instructor for babies, knowledge which I apply to all age groups as a tool for enhancing their leanring experience. I've been married for 15 years and have 2 children. My family and I recently moved to The Woodlands and I am very excited to be a part of the Woodlands Tree House team.

Paloma Llanes - Spanish Lead Teacher 4 Year Olds I was born in Mexico City. I attended the National Center for Montessori Education in San Diego, CA. where I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education. I worked at The American Montessori School in Mexico city for 4 years. Due to my husband' s job, I have lived all over the continent and had my three children in different countries. Six years ago I decided to move to The Woodlands where I've been working as a lead teacher for the 3 years old class.

Maru Elizondo - Spanish Teacher Assistant 4 Year Olds Originally from Mexico, I have lived in The Woodlands for 11 years and have been teaching preschool for 4 years. I have a Bachelor's Degree and enjoy reading, playing tennis and spending time with my family. I am extremely caring, nurturing and demonstrate a very patient approach in the classroom.

Teresa Loyo - Spanish Lead Teacher 3 Year Olds Originally from Mexico City, I moved to the US in 1993. I hold a BS and for the last eight years I have been working in the Educational Field as a Spanish Teacher, Computer Instructor and Kindergarten Co-Teacher. I have also attended several workshops in Early Education Development. I'm always eager to challenge myself and learn as much as I can. I look forward to working with your children in the most fun and successful manner.

Kari Heuring - English Teacher 3 Years Olds I graduated with a BS in Applied Learning and Development with a Special Education Certification. For 5 years I worked for Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) as a Certified Teacher and Early Intervention Specialist before deciding to stay home with my 3 children. I am thrilled about being at Woodlands Tree House and look forward to an amazing year.

Susanne Fenske - English Lead Teacher 2 Year Olds I was born and raised in Germany where I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education. Before moving to the US, I worked for four years as a preschool teacher in a Red Cross facility. Due to my husband's job, we moved to the US in 2001 and three years ago we moved to The Woodlands. Since then I have been working as a preschool teacher. I am happy to be a part of the team at Woodlands Tree House and I am looking forward to a fun and exciting year with your children.

Patti Miller - Office Manager I have a degree in Business Law but have been in the education field for 20 years as a kindergarten teacher, university registrar, state testing facilitator and grade level assistant. I am married to a Marine and have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.

Liz P. Mitre - Spanish Lead Teacher 3 Year Olds I was born in Mexico where I lived until I moved to The Woodlands two years ago. I have a degree in Economics. I started working as a teacher 10 years ago when I opened an after school program teaching English as a second language. I am very excited to be a part of the team at Woodlands Treehouse Preschool and looking forward to educating your child.

Seny Lozano - English/Spanish Teacher Assistant 3 Year Olds I was born in Brownsville, raised in Houston, and thanks to my family language heritage I command both English and Spanish. I raised my 3 children bilingual in Monterrey, Mexico, where I earned a BS degree in Education. I also hold different professional trainings in teaching from both Mexico and the US. I worked as a bilingual teacher for 18 years at Colegio San Patricio in Monterrey, Mexico. My family and I have now relocated to the Woodlands Area. My call in life is teaching, and I am so happy to be part of the Woodlands Preschool children’s lives.

Isabelle Lopez Carels - Spanish Teacher Assistant 2 Year Olds I have a Mexican and Belgian background and speak three languages: Spanish, French and English. I have a BS in Human Development. I have been living in The Woodlands with my husband and three children since 2006. I've been a teacher for over 15 years and have been teaching preschool for the last three years. I am very happy to be a part of the Woodlands Tree House team and I am very excited about teaching your children.

Cecilia Lo Cicero - Music & Movement Teacher I was born and raised in Argentina and have over 15 years of experience working with young children in various settings. Before moving to the Woodlands, I worked as a Music Teacher, Early Intervention Specialist, and Music Therapist in several countries as well as having my own private practice. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy, specialized in Early Intervention and have been certified as an Infant Toddler Family Specialist (ITFS). I am bilingual (English and Spanish), fluent in French and Italian, and have three children. I am passionate about my profession and extremely excited to join the Woodlands Tree House Preschool team and share the joy of Music with your children.
