Mission and Philosophy

The Woodlands Tree House Preschool's mission is to provide the children of The Woodlands and its surrounding communities with a unique program that will allow them to develop their cognitive, social, emotional, physical and aesthetic abilities in a caring and friendly environment.

Based on the theory that children learn by doing and while having fun, active involvement and meaningful experimentation are combined with systematic instruction provided by warm, dedicated and qualified teachers.

Goals

The early years are critical to a child's later success in learning. The following are goals that the school shall strive to achieve:

• Promote the development of each child's cognitive, social, emotional, physical and aesthetic abilities to their fullest potential.
• Incorporate each child's interest and the events that make up their lives in the daily activities to foster learning and problem solving skills.
• Offer a variety of developmentally appropriate activities to meet children's individual needs and learning styles.
• Provide a team of professional educators with knowledge and experience in teaching young children.
• Promote active involvement of parents in our program.

Accreditation

Accreditation Makes a Difference

The Woodlands Tree House Preschool is a strong proponent of the accreditation program sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Programs that are accredited by NAEYC need to demonstrate their commitment to go beyond the state's minimum licensing requirements. When a center is awarded accreditation they are meeting very rigorous national standards in health, safety, administration and teacher qualifications, curriculum, communication and community involvement. To maintain their certification, centers must continually exceed high national child care standards.

It is our goal to be accredited by this institution in the future. As a result, many of our school policies and practices are based on the standards and criteria established by them.
